About Us

The Austin Area Spiritual Directors Community gathers together monthly to offer ongoing educational opportunities and support to one another. If you're a spiritual director in the Austin area, you'll benefit from the communal experiences and learning provided by our network of Austin area spiritual directors.

Our Mission

The Austin Area Spiritual Directors Community supports one another by providing opportunities for Spiritual Growth.

We provide mutual support, nourishment, and enrichment for one another; Offer in-service opportunities for current issues relating to the ministry of spiritual direction; Share resources and information; Establish a referral network of spiritual directors; Explore ways of making the ministry of spiritual direction more widely known and accessible to others; Facilitate peer supervision for those who wish; Learn how to pray well together.

Our Values

The search – for self, for wisdom, for truth, for justice, for God- is strenuous and unending. We need good companions in order to persevere in it.

In good company in a community of conviction, the quest never loses its relevance, its urgency,

or its savor.

Kaye Ashe, OP

"I joined this community over 20 years ago. I am grateful for the companionship of peers, who value this calling and support me as I grow as a listening presence to the movement of the Spirit."

"This AASDC connected me with a helpful broader community of spiritual directors for a place of belonging and further education as I completed my spiritual direction program."

"AASDC has welcomed me as a new spiritual director and is so supportive of my growth as a companion. I love this generous community."
